Carousel extends Cologne air freight capacity to meet market demand

The critical logistics specialist set-up the new flight rotation between FKB and DUB in January last year, aimed at maintaining high service levels and fast delivery times for its clients, post-Brexit, by avoiding a stopover in Birmingham (BHX) and the associated customs/transit processes. An additional stopover option in Cologne was introduced during summer 2021, to support the agriculture and MedTech industry and Carousel has now announced that this will operate five days a week (Monday to Friday) during this summer.

Supporting Irish organisations, with European distribution centres located in Germany, Benelux or north-east of France, the new air-linehaul offers later flight cut-off times for faster delivery lead times. Clients can choose from an air freight only solution, or a complete end-to-end solution including flexible final mile options. Timings for the new operation are as follows (in local times):
